Law Clerk Openings

The BCSAO is currently accepting applications for law clerk positions. The BCSAO accepts applications on a rolling basis. Law Clerks are an essential part of our office working closely with prosecutors to assist with investigations, hearings and trials. Law clerks joining our office will gain invaluable experience with a full range of exposure to the criminal justice trial process. Day to day work will include assisting prosecutors with witness and police officer interviews, trial and discovery preparation, evidence gathering, drafting motions, and conducting legal research. Law clerks are called upon to support prosecutors in court by assisting with all aspects of docket and case management from hearings to jury trials. Law clerk placements may be within any of our units ranging from District Court to Homicide. When staffing vacant ASA positions, our law clerks receive first consideration.

Candidates must be a current law school student, law school graduate, or awaiting admission to the Maryland Bar. Applicants who do not fall within one of these candidacy groups will not be considered.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and motivated. The candidate must possess demonstrated strong computer and technological literacy. Demonstrated proficiency in Lexis Nexis and Microsoft applications preferred.

The starting salary for law clerks is $40,489 including full benefits. Law clerks have the ability to work up to two days remotely following the initial hiring period.
