On June 23, the Supreme Court handed down its decision on New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen. The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys is undertaking an analysis of this opinion, and will provide more guidance to prosecutors on this issue. While the full effects of Bruen remain to be seen, our duty as prosecutors remains the same. That duty is to protect those within our communities from the toll and devastation of gun violence. APA stands ready to continue providing prosecutors with superior and timely training and resources to combat the increased gun violence sweeping this nation.
