AI and Technology for Prosecutors
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the justice system—and AI and technology for prosecutors are evolving just as rapidly. The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) helps prosecution teams navigate emerging tools with clarity, caution, and purpose.
Our training and technical assistance (TTA) supports prosecutors in evaluating AI-generated evidence, managing digital workflows, and understanding the ethical implications of algorithmic tools. We focus on practical applications of AI and technology for prosecutors that enhance decision-making, reduce case backlogs, and improve access to justice.
APA also convenes national conversations on responsible innovation. We bring together prosecutors, technologists, and policy leaders to explore how AI can support—not replace—human judgment in the courtroom.
Training, Events, and Resources
APA provides TTA to prosecution teams navigating the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and digital evidence. Our resources are designed to be practical, accessible, and grounded in the realities of prosecutorial work—from courtroom ethics to case triage and victim services.
We offer webinars, roundtables, and hands-on workshops that help prosecutors evaluate AI-generated materials, understand policy implications, and apply emerging tools responsibly. Whether you're exploring automation for intake or preparing to challenge algorithmic evidence, APA is here to support your team with timely, relevant guidance on AI and technology for prosecutors.
APA’s flagship initiative in this space is the National Prosecutorial Data Summit, now in its third year. The 2025 summit, held in Dallas, Texas, focused on the transformative role of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics in enhancing case flow and office operations. Prosecutors, researchers, and technologists gathered to explore innovations in data storytelling, causal research, and smart prosecution strategies. Read more about this event on our blog, and sign up to be the first to hear about 2026's Data Summit by subscribing to our emailing list here.
Additionally, prosecution teams can explore data dashboards and digital tools that support decision-making and performance tracking at our Data Dashboards page.
