Prosecutors for Prosecutors
The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA-US), alongside several founding organizations, launched Prosecutors For Prosecutors (PFP) to unite prosecutors across the United States in support of colleagues in Afghanistan facing persecution by the Taliban. The program has concluded, and its final report is now available.
About the program
Prosecutors For Prosecutors (PFP) was launched in response to a dire request for help from APA-US’s counterpart in Afghanistan, APA-AF, which reported dozens of prosecutors tortured and killed by the Taliban, along with members of their families. PFP brought together prosecutors nationwide to support those colleagues and their families.
Through PFP, APA-US and its founding partner organizations coordinated fundraising, advocacy, and direct support efforts on behalf of Afghan prosecutors and their families who remained at risk following the Taliban’s return to power. The campaign relied on the generosity and engagement of prosecutors across the United States who recognized the shared stakes of the rule of law.
With the program now concluded, APA has published a final summary of PFP’s work — the outcomes achieved, lessons learned, and the partners who made the effort possible. The full report is available for download below.
