The Iron County Coordinated Community Response Team is a partnership of six agencies or departments in Iron County. According to Malinda Peterson, team chair, the group started after three individuals in the county died as a result of domestic violence. South Bend gang leaders invited to meet with police, community organizations
8/29/14
SOUTH BEND - For the second time, South Bend police, prosecutors and community activists sat face-to-face with the people they say could either drive or end the violence in the city. At the Charles Martin Center on Thursday, police put all their cards on the table. They told some of the most influential gang and group members they have a choice. Either end the violence now, or risk your entire gang being put in the spotlight. Cameras weren't allowed inside. But the media was allowed to attend a rehearsal to go in-depth about how the call-in works.
