NEW ORLEANS —A Houma man was arrested Thursday after making threatening comments to the Terrebonne Parish District Attorney on Facebook, Louisiana State Police said.
According to a news release from State Police, 50-year-old Michael J. Martin made several Facebook posts critical of District Attorney Joe Waitz Jr., the Terrebonne Parish District Attorney's Office and the Thirty-Second Judicial District Judges. "In one of the posts, Martin referenced District Attorney Joe Waitz's son, Joe Waitz III, and posted a life threatening comment," police said. "After investigating, troopers obtained an arrest warrant for Martin."
Martin was found at his home and was arrested on a charge of terrorizing.
