Colorado Suspect Expected to Be Charged at Hearing
Colorado prosecutors are expected to formally charge James Eagan Holmes with multiple counts of first degree murder on Monday morning in a movie theater shooting rampage here 11 days ago that left 12 people dead and dozens wounded.A large throng of journalists and onlookers had gathered outside the Arapahoe County Courthouse in Centennial, Colo. - not far from where the shootings took place. There was a heavy police presence and access to the courtroom was being tightly controlled. Judge William Sylvester is also expected to hear a motion by news media outlets for the case file to be unsealed. Judge Sylvester is also likely to address a motion filed by Mr. Holmes's lawyers, who have complained that law enforcement officials have been leaking privileged material to the news media despite the judge's gag order.
