The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys is the only national organization to represent and support all prosecutors, including both appointed and elected prosecutors, as well as their deputies and assistants, whether they work as city attorneys, tribal prosecutors, district attorneys, state's attorneys, attorneys general or United States Attorneys. 

What is a Prosecuting Attorney? 
Black's Law Dictionary defines the term prosecuting attorney as the name of the public officer who is appointed or elected in each judicial district, circuit, or county, to conduct criminal prosecutions on behalf of the State or people. Federal prosecutors (U.S. Attorneys) represent the United States in the prosecution of federal crimes.
