The presenters will discuss tools and strategies for successfully prosecuting these difficult cases and the practical steps necessary to achieve success.  APA is seeking one credit of Continuing Legal Education credit from the State of Virginia for this webinar and can help attorney attendees qualify this webinar for CLE credit in their own jurisdictions.

Louisville Kentucky Police Launch Real Time Crime Center

Louisville Metro Police plan to launch a new Real Time Crime Center on Sunday that will monitor the city for potential crime and provide crucial real-time information to officers responding to crime scenes.

The center, staffed by nine civilian crime analysts, is one result of the mob violence that struck downtown and shook the community in March.

Jill Lee Sworn In As First Female District Attorney In Shelby County

COLUMBIANA–It’s been 21 years since Shelby County last swore in a district attorney and on Monday, Oct. 27 Jill Lee became the first female sworn in as the new Shelby County district attorney.

Lee is taking over the responsibilities of Robby Owens who retired as district attorney last month. Lee had previously served as Owens chief assistant district attorney for more than 10 years before being appointed by Gov. Robert Bentley on Sept. 12.

Hawaii Prosecutors Gather For Statewide Domestic Violence Training

LIHUE, Hawaii —Prosecutors from across the state gathered at the County of Kaua'i Emergency Operations Center last week for a two-day training on the prosecution of domestic violence cases.

"October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we in Hawai'i's criminal justice community are committed to eliminating domestic violence and family abuse in our community," said Prosecuting Attorney Justin F. Kollar.

The training featured presenters from each of the four county prosecutor's offices in Hawaii, as well as the state Department of the Attorney General, the Kaua'i Victim/Witness Program, and the Kaua'i Police Department.
